LONE TREE CRIME ALERT
CRIME ALERT
During the month of June, the Lone Tree Police Department has seen a large increase in vehicle break-ins in residential communities. The suspects are targeting vehicles with unlocked doors, even those parked in driveways. Items being stolen are anything of value, i.e. sunglasses, purses, wallets, iPods, laptops, backpacks, and even coins in the cup holder.
The Lone Tree Police Department would like to remind everyone to make sure you don’t leave anything of value in your vehicles and to always lock your doors. The motive behind most break-ins are easy targets, as the suspects do not want to spend much time or make much noise. Vehicles with unlocked doors give the suspects a quick, easy way to steal your valuables, without leaving much evidence behind. By locking your car, and not having valuable items in view, suspects will be more likely to pass up your vehicle, keeping you from becoming their next victim.
